Wat Pho entrance fee 2026 at a glance
Foreign visitors pay THB 300 per person to enter Wat Pho. Thai citizens enter free when they show their national ID. Children under 120 cm are free. Go by the height rule, not by an age limit.
One entrance fee is normally all you need for the temple grounds, including the hall of the Reclining Buddha. Massage, courses and any guide you hire are separate. The Grand Palace next door has its own ticket and its own rules.
You pay at the temple. The tours on this page are bookings for a guide, transport or a route, and each one states what it covers. This site is not a ticket office.

Our picks: Wat Pho tours with the entry included
Our take: these three include the Wat Pho entry, so you skip the ticket counter. The walk with the flower market adds Wat Arun and meals, and the Chinatown walk adds the Grand Palace.

The massage rows are the pavilion rates for Thai and foot massage and the two add-on treatments. They are not part of the entrance fee. The palace ticket includes Wat Phra Kaew and the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles. For a combined day, read the page on the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. For the massage itself, see Thai massage at Wat Pho.
For most visitors the plan is simple: pay THB 300 at the temple, add a massage if you want one, and book a tour only if you want a guide or a route that links several sights.
Before you pay
- Bring your ID if you are Thai. Free entry for Thai citizens depends on showing the national ID.
- Check a tour price for the entry fee. Some tours include temple entrance, others do not. Add THB 300 per foreign adult if it is missing.
- Carry baht. Keep small notes for entry, donations and a drink afterwards.
- Dress for a temple. You may be asked to cover up even after you have paid. The dress code explains how.
- Pick your hour. The temple is open from 08:00 or 08:30 until 18:30 or 19:30. Early morning and late afternoon are calmer. See opening hours.
Wat Pho is an active monastery. Monks and worshippers use the halls, so keep your voice low and your feet pointed away from Buddha images.
What the fee gets you
The grounds are larger than most first-time visitors expect. Your entrance covers the gilded Reclining Buddha, which is 46 m long, the four great chedis, each about 42 m high, the ordination hall with its mother-of-pearl doors, the cloisters and the stone figures. The highlights page lists them in a sensible walking order, and the history page explains who built what.
Pairing Wat Pho with other sights
Each sight has its own entry rule.
Grand Palace
THB 500 for foreign visitors, separate from Wat Pho. Ticket sales close earlier in the afternoon than the temple, so go to the palace first.
Palace and Wat Pho โWat Arun
The temple across the river sets its own price and rules. Read the details in the Wat Arun tickets guide.
Museum Siam
Close to Sanam Chai station. Adults pay THB 100, and it is closed on Mondays. See things to do nearby.
Wat Pho tickets: frequently asked questions
How much is the Wat Pho entrance fee in 2026?
THB 300 per foreign visitor. Thai citizens enter free with their national ID. Children under 120 cm are free.
Does the ticket include the massage?
No. Massage and courses are charged separately. Thai massage for 30 minutes costs THB 340, 60 minutes THB 520 and 120 minutes THB 1,040.
Is the Reclining Buddha a separate ticket?
You normally pay one entrance fee for the grounds, including the Reclining Buddha hall. See the Reclining Buddha page for what to look at inside.
A driver outside says the temple is closed today. What should I do?
The temple is open for visits every day. Walk to the gate and see for yourself before you change your plans. A driver who suggests other stops instead is offering a detour, not information about the temple. Politely decline and keep walking.
Can I pay the entrance fee by card?
Carry some Thai baht in cash as well. Payment options at the counter can vary, so have small notes ready.
Is wat-pho.org the official ticket site?
No. This is an independent travel guide. It has no link to the temple, the massage school or any tour operator, and it does not sell entrance tickets.
